Augmented Reality is a technology with growing popularity among mobile developers, and there are early examples of successful commercialization of applications beyond AR as a feature. Yelp was one of the first applications that deployed AR as a means to visually enrich information on a mobile device, and if you attended SXSW, the recently launched Junaio AR browser 2.0 enabled "ScavengAR Hunt", an example for engaging mobile users through AR and a mix of location-based services, virtual tags, the mobile browser and social networks.
For our next event, we have invited a set of speakers from different parts of the AR ecosystem - a handset provider, two AR enablers and their respective show case consumer AR products and a digital marketing agency.
In addition, we will feature an exclusive preview of Windows Mobile 7 - join us to be among the first to see a prototype Windows Phone 7 series device in action. We'd also like to thank Microsoft for sponsoring this event.

SPEAKERS & PRESENTERS
Microsoft - Anand Iyer, Senior Product Manager Windows Phone 7. Anand will present Microsoft’s new mobile operating system, the experience as well as some of the newest applications for the devices. This is the first public demo ever since the announcement at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Nokia – Radek Grzeszczuk, Principal Scientist Nokia Research Center. At Nokia, Radek’s research focuses on mobile visual search, mobile augmented reality, urban modeling and visual user interfaces. Radek will give us an overview on what’s cooking on AR at Nokia, and what we can expect in the next 3-5 years from a handset capability perspective.
AKQA – Tina Unterlaender, Account Director AKQA. A top 10 Interactive Ad Agency, at AKQA Tina is the lead account manager for the mobile division. Tina will share demos and results of AR-based campaigns for AKQA’s blue chip clients such as US Postal and Nike.
Tagwhat / Iryss - Dave Elchoness (Founder & CEO). Tagwhat is a create and share mobile augmented reality network, based on the Iryss AR platform. Iryss has delivered AR applications with data from e.g. Yelp, Wikipedia, and Flickr. Dave is coming all the way from Boulder, Colorado to show some of the latest results of the private beta launch of Tagwhat (and he might have some beta invites, too…).
Metaio – Lisa Murphy, Product Marketing Manager. A pioneer in Augmented Reality Technology, Metaio develops visual interactive solutions. Metaio’s Junaio Mobile AR browser features indoor usage independent of GPS, web- and user-based information channels and an open API for developers. Lisa will provide an overview of Metaio’s work in AR with clients such BMW, LEGO, Popular Science and Toyota.
Layar - Matt Miesniks, Head of Customer Development. Coming all the way from the Netherlands, Matt will provide an overview of the Layar Platform and its two parts: the browser to experience the content layers, and the platform to serve and publish content layers. Learn more about Samsung's recent announcement to preinstall the Layar browser on the Galaxy S.
